New construction

New construction refers to the process of building a structure from the ground up, rather than renovating or remodeling an existing one. It allows for full customization and ensures that the property meets current building standards, energy efficiencies, and modern design preferences

New windows

Home windows serve as both functional and aesthetic elements in a house. They provide natural light, ventilation, and a view of the outside world while contributing to the home’s design and energy efficiency.

Siding

Siding

Home siding is an important exterior element that provides protection, insulation, and aesthetic appeal to a house. Siding types include: vinyl, wood, fiber cement, brick, metal, and stucco.

Interior exterior trims and moldings

Trims and Moldings

Trims and moldings add decorative and functional elements to a home’s interior and exterior. They define spaces, cover gaps, and enhance architectural character.

Restoration, remodeling, and renovation are often used interchangeably, but they each have distinct meanings when it comes to home and building improvements.

Re-purposing Old Materials

Re-purposing Old Materials

Repurposing old materials is a creative and sustainable approach to giving discarded or vintage items a second life. It reduces waste, adds character, and often results in one-of-a-kind pieces.

Off Grid Work (including islands)

Off Grid Work
(including islands)

Off-grid construction refers to building homes or structures that operate independently from public utilities, such as electricity, water, and sewage systems. These types of buildings are designed for self-sufficiency, often relying on renewable energy sources and sustainable materials.

Movement Circulation

Movement Circulation

Construction movement and circulation refer to how people, materials, and equipment move through a space during both the building process and in the final design. Proper planning ensures efficiency, safety, and optimal use of space.

Island Homes, Cabins and Camps

Island homes, cabins, and camps each offer unique retreats, blending natural surroundings with comfort and functionality.

The process…..

There are some key points to touch on in the initial steps of the construction process. Whether new construction (which requires land as well), or renovations, a good set of Design plans are needed for visualization, proper communication of thoughts and a rough initial number to make sure we are accommodating your budget.. These help us arrive at the ever-fun topic of financing.  Having these conversations right off the bat helps set the table for a good working relationship throughout the build.

Once achieved we can start to get a game plan and price together.

We start with a phone call where I listen to your ideas and get a feel for your budget and timeline. We spend some time going over your project details. This is where a good plan to work off from is invaluable.  I’ve worked with Jeff from Blue water design for years and highly recommend him. Jeff takes your thoughts and ideas and puts them down on paper where they can be easily interpreted.

Now with a set of plans in hand we can work on permitting, Site visits from various sub-contractors, and getting costs together.  From breaking ground right on through to the final coat of paint.

Once a price is agreed upon the scheduling starts. We work on a realistic timeline as there are numerous ways a project can go depending on scope and size. My job is to have the discussion with you as what to expect along the way to avoid any unnecessary surprises. Your job as a homeowner is to ask any and all question you have. I find this openness helps in all conversations and we will certainly be having many along the way.
